A German Social Welfare Medal consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac two Medals for Faithful Service(Ehrenzeichen fr deutsche Volkspflege). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised Geneva Cross overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of MEDAILLE FR DEUTSCHE VOLKSPFLEGE (MEDAL FOR CARE OF THE GERMAN PEOPLE), unmarked, measuring 38. 14 mm in diameter, weighing 24. 2 grams, in near mint condition.
