We began the creation process in 1997 with a Dan Hinkley wild collection of Hosta sieboldii from Honshu Japan. We proceeded to self pollinate the original plant each year, then selecting the smallest offspring to self again. What started as a plant with 4" x 6" leaves had been reduced to a 6" tall x 18" wide clump with 1. 5"
