Song of Melancholy was of one Leilani Nepenthes's signature crosses and is believed to be Nepenthes boschiana x (spectabilis x veitchii). The male parent is a beautiful selected clone of Nepenthes (lowii x veitchii) x boschiana which we call "white" because of its white, striped peristome that contrasts with a red pitcher body. Both parents are extremely vigorous plants that can be grown in a wide
